Sanders Brings on New Far Left Speechwriter to Campaign

Democratic Socialist and 2020 presidential hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders announced this week that he has hired far-left commentator David Sirota as a senior adviser and speechwriter for his primary campaign.

Conservatives are blasting the choice pointing out Sirota’s past involvement in the so-called Occupy Wall Street movement, and his one-time praise for Venezuela dictator Hugo Chavez's socialism – saying it would lead to "real economic gains."

Back in 2013 following the Boston Marathon bombings, Sirota also wrote, "Let's hope the Boston Marathon bomber is a white American." 

Neither Sirota nor the Sanders campaign has commented on Sirota’s past or his new role in the campaign.
