Easterly Ranger Appoints Peter Zabierek as Senior Portfolio Manager

Easterly Asset Management (“Easterly”), home to investment teams providing investors with a portfolio of solutions across alternatives, active equity, and active fixed income, today announced the appointment of Peter M. Zabierek, CFA, as a Senior Portfolio Manager at Easterly Ranger. Zabierek will play a key role in supporting the Global Real Estate Strategy, in addition to overseeing the relaunch of two U.S. listed real estate investment strategies under the Easterly banner: Easterly Ranger U.S. Real Estate Strategy, and a “best ideas” strategy, the Easterly Ranger U.S. Focused Real Estate Strategy.

With 25 years of experience in global listed real estate investing, Peter brings an extensive track record of investment management, innovation and leadership. His appointment reflects Easterly’s commitment to delivering high-conviction, actively managed real estate solutions to investors across wealth management and institutional channels.

Peter previously co-founded Sugi Capital Management in 2018, where he managed the same U.S. listed real estate strategies now being relaunched under the Easterly banner. Designed to complement Easterly Ranger’s flagship Easterly Global Real Estate Fund (JARIX, I share), these strategies provide investors with concentrated, actively managed U.S. listed real estate portfolios, combining broad market participation with high-conviction positioning.

Earlier in his career, Peter served as CEO of the global real estate firm, Presima, where he led its growth trajectory. He’s also held senior leadership roles at CenterSquare Investment Management and Morgan Stanley. Peter has built and grown multiple listed real estate investment platforms with a consistent focus on performance and integrity.

Peter Zabierek is dually employed as a portfolio manager for Easterly Investment Partners LLC and Sugi Capital, an independent, SEC registered investment adviser, on an interim basis while Sugi clients are being transitioned to the Easterly platform. During this period, Mr. Zabierek may receive compensation from Easterly and from Sugi for recommending certain investment products, and may recommend the purchase or sale of the same securities for Easterly and Sugi accounts. This relationship could be perceived as influencing Mr. Zabierek’s objectivity in recommending securities transactions for Easterly clients. To mitigate this potential conflict, all investment recommendations made by Mr. Zabierek to Sugi clients are subject to pre-approval by Easterly.
