SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 14, 2025--

AttackIQ®, the leading vendor of Adversarial Exposure Validation (AEV) solutions and founding research partner of the MITRE Center for Threat-Informed Defense (CTID), today announced it has appointed Jon Baker as Vice President of Threat-Informed Defense. In this role, Baker will lead efforts to accelerate the adoption of threat-informed defense, guiding customers with both services and technology to improve security outcomes.

Baker joins AttackIQ following a 23-year career at MITRE, where he began as a software engineer and advanced into leadership roles spanning standards development, cyber threat intelligence, and adversary emulation. He created and led MITRE’s cyber threat intelligence and adversary emulation department, overseeing the ATT&CK® Evaluations program and CALDERA™, MITRE’s open-source adversary emulation platform. Most notably, Baker co-founded and directed the MITRE Center for Threat-Informed Defense (CTID), building it into a global collaborative research and development hub that has advanced threat-informed defense practices across the security industry.

“Jon’s leadership has fundamentally shaped how our industry approaches threat-informed defense,” said Carl Wright, Chief Commercial Officer at AttackIQ. “His expertise and vision will be critical as we help organizations move from theory to practice, operationalizing these methods to build stronger, more resilient security programs.”

Baker will spearhead new initiatives at AttackIQ, including enhancing professional services to help organizations assess security posture through the lens of threat-informed defense and apply actionable guidance to strengthen defenses. He will also work closely with customers and partners to ensure AttackIQ continues bridging cutting-edge research with real-world application.

“Making computing safe is one of the defining challenges of our time, and it’s the mission that drew me to AttackIQ,” said Baker. “After years of advancing threat-informed defense through research, I’m excited to engage directly with security teams to help them apply these practices in their programs. This is a mission-driven opportunity to accelerate adoption and deliver meaningful impact for defenders everywhere.”

Baker’s appointment builds on AttackIQ’s longstanding collaboration with MITRE and the CTID. AttackIQ was among the first industry partners to support the Center, and Baker’s leadership will now help translate years of collaborative research into direct value for customers, advancing the practice of threat-informed defense at scale.

“For six years, I’ve worked closely with AttackIQ through their CTID membership and have seen firsthand how effectively they translate research into measurable security outcomes,” said Baker. “Joining the AttackIQ team is an exciting opportunity to take a hands-on role in strengthening cyber defense at scale.”
