TEANECK, N.J. (AP) — The losing is over for the baseball teams from Yeshiva University and Lehman College.

The teams split a doubleheader Tuesday, with Lehman winning the first game 7-6 to snap its 42-game losing skid. Yeshiva took the second game, 9-5, to end its 100-game drought.

The New York City neighbors played a nonconference set at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

The Maccabees improved to 1-19 with their first win since Feb. 27, 2022.

They led 3-0 after the first and 7-0 after the third. Catcher Jake Arnow was 3 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. First baseman Noah Steinmetz went 2 for 2 with two hits and two RBIs and third baseman Aharon Weiden went 2 for 4.

Eli Zirdok got the victory, allowing five hits in 4 2/3 innings. He struck out one and walked four.

Lehman committed three errors and stranded 10 runners in the second game.

The Lightning improved to 1-14 after their first victory since May 9, 2023.

Designated hitter Brandon Deynes and centerfielder Kevin Arias both drove in two runs and scored in the opener. Right fielder Elias Fermin added two runs and an RBI. Justin Chamorro also pitched a complete game with 13 strikeouts in the win.

This story has been corrected to show both teams ended their losing streaks by splitting a doubleheader and that Yeshiva's losing streak ended at 100 games, not 99.
