Hammerstein Ballroom, a historic 35,000-square-foot venue that opened in 1906, has a long track record of hosting iconic shows including the Grateful Dead, David Bowie and Guns N’ Roses. It will now serve as the dramatic backdrop for the PPL’s biggest stars, including the top seeded men’s pair of Agustin Tapia and Federico Chingotto from the Miami Padel Club and the top seeded women’s pair of Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea from the Flowrida Goats.
Following a regular season that included events in Miami, San Sebastián (Spain), and Guadalajara (Mexico), plus a first-of-its-kind All-Star exhibition set in the Hamptons’ celebrated Wölffer Estate Vineyard, the City’s Cup Finals take center stage in the heart of Manhattan.
“Our 2025 schedule featured world-class international destinations, paid homage to the history of the sport, and showcased the global growth prospects of professional padel,” said PPL Chief Operating Officer Brian Flinn. “We established new benchmarks for elite athleticism, excitement, hospitality, and production value, and further built a sports and lifestyle brand that is resonating with fans, players, teams, partners, and investors. As we look toward our season-ending championships, we’re poised to deliver another extraordinary experience in an unexpected, iconic setting.”
The top eight teams in the 2025 PPL overall regular-season standings qualified for the City’s Cup Finals, where they will compete in both men’s and women’s single-elimination tournaments. Each team’s men’s and women’s pairs are seeded based on where they finished in the regular season divisional standings. Matches follow PPL’s fast-paced format: best-of-three sets with Golden Point scoring and a 10-point super tiebreak in lieu of a full third set. Each of the eight teams will earn points based on where its men’s and women’s pairs finish in their respective championship brackets. Men’s and women’s pairs eliminated in the first round will be placed fifth through eighth based on their respective divisional standings at the conclusion of the regular season. The team with the highest aggregate point total across both divisions will be named 2025 City’s Cup Champion.
All matches will be played on a special-edition adidas PPL High Competition Court, featuring a minimalist, pillar-free panoramic structure that enhances player experience and broadcast visibility, specifically designed, engineered, and manufactured by AFP Courts for the PPL City’s Cup Finals.
