CINCINNATI (AP) — Cincinnati All-Pro defensive end Trey Hendrickson has been ruled out for the Bengals' game Thursday night against Pittsburgh because of a hip injury.

Hendrickson was injured during the first half of last Sunday's 27-18 loss at Green Bay. Hendrickson led the league with 17 1/2 sacks last season and has four in six games this season. Since the start of last season, he has been credited with 30.5% of Cincinnati’s pressures and 45.7% of its sacks, both league-highs.

Defensive end Shemar Stewart, who has missed the past four games with an ankle injury, is expected to return to the lineup. Defensive end Isaiah Foskey has also been promoted from the practice squad for the game.

The Bengals (2-4) — who have dropped four straight — will also get back guard Lucas Patrick, who suffered a calf injury during the first half of the opener at Cleveland. Patrick was activated off injured reserve Thursday afternoon.

Cincinnati's other inactives are TE Tanner Hudson (concussion), CB Cam Taylor-Britt, C Matt Lee, WR Jermaine Burton and DT McKinnley Jackson.

Pittsburgh safety DeShon Elliott is expected to play. He originally didn't travel with the team on Wednesday because of a personal matter.

The AFC North-leading Steelers (4-1) did place safety Miles Killebrew on injured reserve because of a knee injury.

The Steelers inactives are WR Calvin Austin III (shoulder), OG Andrus Peat, DL Logan Lee and DE DeMarvin Leal.
