President Donald Trump announced that Boeing will build the Air Force’s future fighter jets, which the Pentagon says will have stealth and penetration capabilities that far exceed those of its current fleet and are essential in a potential conflict with China.

He also said war plans should not be shared with Elon Musk because of his adviser’s business interests, a rare suggestion of limits to the billionaire entrepreneur’s expansive administration role.

The fallout from Trump’s order to facilitate the Education Department’s closure continues amid protests, court challenges and a new role for a soon-to-be downsized Small Business Administration: overseeing student loans.
