SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep 12, 2025--

The Latino Community Foundation (LCF) announced today that it has awarded $2.95 million across 52 unique organizations in Q3 of 2025, including inaugural grant investments in Texas and New Mexico. Nearly half of this quarter’s investments support civic power and community-based voter engagement, preparing Latino communities for the 2026 midterm elections and strengthening immigrant rights protection and defense.

The Board approved a grantmaking increase of 91 percent for 2025, nearly doubling LCF's expected grantmaking this year to support immediate and long-term needs of the community. Additionally, 35 percent of its funding was directed to LCF’s four priority regions in California: the Central Valley, Central Coast, Inland Empire, and Imperial Valley.

LCF believes deeply in the leadership of grassroots organizations that protect vulnerable communities and drive solutions nationwide. In line with its mission, the foundation is expanding its impact and network of trusted partners by funding 43 organizations as first-time grantees.

“At a time when the political climate aggressively scapegoats Latinos and immigrants, these grants strengthen the organizations defending our rights, mobilizing our communities, and empowering Latino families so they can thrive,” said Julián Castro, CEO of the Latino Community Foundation. “From voter engagement to wildfire recovery, our community partnerships are about securing dignity, opportunity, and power for our future.”

Highlights of LCF’s grantmaking from January to September include:

  • Supporting a total of 135 Latino-serving organizations in California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas
  • Directing $5.25 million to wildfire and disaster relief and recovery
  • Investing $2.6 million in civic power to mobilize Latino voters and strengthen nonprofit capacity to support a multiracial democracy
  • Investing $2.2 million in advancing economic justice to expand opportunity and prosperity
  • Granting $433,200 to youth leadership, arts, and cultural expression through the Latino Giving Circle Network and individual donor partnerships
  • Providing $645,000 in responsive grants to strengthen immigrant rights and legal services in response to today’s political climate

These milestones, made possible through investments in LCF’s Latino Power Fund and Latino Economic Opportunity Fund, underscore LCF’s role as the nation’s largest Latino-serving philanthropic institution and intermediary, optimizing the strength of partnerships with institutional and individual donors to direct more resources into Latino communities during this time of crisis.
