Rams backup OL Justin Dedich practices for first time after hand injury

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Justin Dedich practiced Monday for the first time since sustaining a hand injury around the July Fourth holiday.

Dedich was activated off the non-football injury list and participated on a limited basis in practice Monday. Signed as an undrafted free agent out of Southern California, Dedich emerged to become the Rams’ backup guard the past two seasons, playing in 29 games and making nine starts.

“He’s going to be an important part of our operation this year, and happy to be able to see him pass his physical and get out there,” coach Sean McVay said.

Dedich was hurt when something fell on his hand, McVay said in July, and fireworks were not involved.
