Georgia mother charged with murder in death of infant son

MACON, Ga. (AP) — A middle Georgia mother whose infant son was found dead on a couch has been charged with murder.

Rebecca Kipp of Warner Robbins remained jailed Wednesday without bail. It's unclear if she has a lawyer representing her.

The Bibb County sheriff's office tells local news outlets that 3-month-old Nickolas Bryan was found dead, face down, between couch cushions. Sheriff's investigators say the infant couldn't have gotten into that position himself before he was found June 11 by his grandmother.

The sheriff's office didn't name a cause of death for the child, who was first believed to have died of natural causes. Further investigation prompted Tuesday's murder charge.
