Community mourns after Atlanta teacher shot in carjacking

ATLANTA (AP) — Police are investigating after an Atlanta elementary school teacher was shot to death in an apparent carjacking. Ricardo Knox was killed Monday night at his Cobb County apartment complex. Cobb County police tell local news outlets the 28-year-old was ambushed. Knox was pronounced dead at a hospital later. Diamond Knox is Ricardo Knox's brother and also a teacher. She says her brother was devoted to serving his community. Knox taught fourth grade at Slater Elementary in Atlanta and was also an aspiring fashion designer. Smith says Knox impressed family and friends with his clothing creations including customized sneakers, sweatshirts and other items he sold online.
