Stacey Abrams backs winners in Georgia Democratic runoffs

ATLANTA (AP) — Three Democrats endorsed by Stacey Abrams have won runoffs for statewide office, while two Republicans have beaten other members of their party endorsed by former President Donald Trump. Democratic winners backed by Abrams included Bee Nguyen for secretary of state, Charlie Bailey for lieutenant governor and William Boddie for labor commissioner. Georgia Republicans have chosen their nominees in two heavily GOP districts. Mike Collins beat former Democrat Vernon Jones in the 10th Congressional District east of Atlanta. Rich McCormick beat Jake Evans in suburban Atlanta’s 6th District. Former President Donald Trump had endorsed both Jones and Evans.
