SPRING, Texas (AP) — SPRING, Texas (AP) — Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) on Friday reported third-quarter net income of $8.61 billion.

On a per-share basis, the Spring, Texas-based company said it had profit of $1.92.

The results beat Wall Street expectations, but Exxon does not adjust its reported results based on one-time events such as asset sales. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.91 per share.

The oil and natural gas company posted revenue of $90.02 billion in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $93.51 billion.
