Steve Remington, Chief Operating Officer of SWBC Mortgage

Before joining SWBC, Steve spent 21 years as the Chief Operating Officer of Ark-La-Tex Financial Services, LLC (DBA Benchmark Mortgage). During his time there, he played a crucial role in developing and enhancing the company's retail and wholesale origination platforms. His leadership encompassed production operations, capital markets, fulfillment operations, secondary operations, and servicing, all of which aimed to deliver exceptional service, foster strong investor relationships, and ensure long-term profitability. Prior to Benchmark, Steve built a consumer-direct mortgage origination platform for Beal Bank in Plano, Texas. He also managed secondary marketing and retail lending operations at Landmark Mortgage, and he served as the head of correspondent lending for a community-focused mortgage firm affiliated with Countrywide Home Loans.

This dedication has ensured he stays connected to the front lines of mortgage lending while building robust operational systems behind the scenes.

His commitment to the industry is further evidenced by his long-standing service on the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association (TMBA) Board of Directors since 2014, including his tenure as TMBA President from 2022 to 2023. A graduate of the TMBA Leadership Institute’s inaugural class, he became a Certified Mortgage Lender in 2021.

Remington attended Texas A&M University and chose to become a student of the mortgage industry by completing Northlake College’s School of Mortgage Banking. Today, he volunteers his time serving on his local Homeowners Association Board.
