BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (AP) — A gun manufacturer is nearing completion of its new headquarters in southwest Georgia.
WALB-TV reports gun maker Taurus plans a ribbon cutting in December at its new corporate home and manufacturing plant in Bainbridge.
The company is moving its headquarters to Georgia from Miami. Rick McCaskill of the Bainbridge and Decatur County Development Authority says the move will bring about 300 jobs to the area.
Construction began in summer of 2018 and ran into some delays after Hurricane Michael plowed through the area last year. But McCaskill says the project is now ahead of schedule.
Guns are already being produced in the facility's manufacturing area. McCaskill says the factory will be able to produce 6,000 or more firearms per week.
