To soar, a verb, meaning to rise upward into the air… The clear, crisp voice of Trinidad and Tobago gospel artiste, Stephen John has brought forth a new track entitled ‘Soar.’ And indeed, this encouraging ballad summons the listener to remain steadfast in their pursuit of Christ. More than a pick-me-up, John unashamedly declares his lifelong commitment and also beckons the listener to remember what is truly important in this life- God’s life-sustaining, peace-giving and blessed Word.

This song was written for Michelle Mercer (performed live at Hope Community Church, Raleigh, NC) after seeing her strength during an incredibly difficult time. It reminds us to remember God's faithfulness in the past during present struggles... It also reminds us to look and listen for God in the everyday things around us and to "be still" and listen for Him...

This is a song I wrote to help wrap up our last series. It's based on the passage in James where it talks about us looking in the mirror and seeing what's wrong and just walking away w/o changing anything. The recording is live from our 4th service of the weekend. It was so cool to play this live at church and I have to give a shout out to Bob Milner who did a great job on the guitar work and Dave Wilson who kept it solid on the drums (the rest of the band did a great job too as well as Mark Hanna putting together the video that accompanies it...)
