While we have been dealing with political violence in this nation, the world continues to spin and developments in the Israel/Gaza conflict are immense.  Turns out we have a 21-point plan to end the conflict.  Good ideas, never gonna happen.  Microsoft can provide services to whoever they want under whatever conditions they want, but this strikes me as a peevish and immature.  Speaking of peevish and immature, a bunch of delegates walked out on Netanyahu’s address to the U.N.  And suddenly it clicked, our battle with political violence and the battles in which Israel finds itself are, on one level the same battle.

As the host has been working very hard to prove, the majority of political violence currently being experienced in the US is from the Left.  The Left see the world in oppressor/oppressed terms, not in terms of good-and-evil.  More accurately, they see the world in terms where if someone is better, by virtually any discernable measure than someone else, the better must be evil and the lesser good, but oppressed.  Wealth, political power, cultural currency, whatever it is – no one is supposed to have more or do better than anyone else, lest they be branded as evil.  And once branded as evil, violence is permitted.  Hence, as the Trump administration tries to place this nation back on a meritocratic footing rather than the “equity” direction it has been headed, we are experiencing violence.

While the Arab/Israel conflict is of a different nature, the U.N.’s support for Hamas/Gaza is rooted in the same sort of anti-meritocratic thinking that our political violence is rooted in.  They are blind to the utter evil that is Hamas because Gaza is poor, even if that poverty is due in no small part to Hamas’ malfeasance.

It is tempting to launch into a discussion of the biblical view of such things – that the Bible concedes that there will always be some people better at some things or people better situated than others – that the measure of good-and-evil is not in the inequality, but in the character of the people on both sides of the circumstance.  But it is Saturday, and college football looms large on the horizon.

I simply want to focus on the consideration that in the transference of the concept of good and evil from an individual responsibility to a systematic one we avoid personal accountability.  Those U.N. delegates behaved abysmally – it is just rude and disrespectful to walk out on a speaker of Benjamin Netanyahu’s standing.  But they feel justified in their personal transgressions because of the regional situation.

I cannot help but wonder what the world would be like if we focused a bit more on how we can be good people individually and a little less on “how to make the world better.”

Stupid Entertainment – Like Watching the Three Stooges

California:

Is going to run out of gasoline much sooner than the EV mandate takes hold – a mandate for which they still have not built any electrical generation infrastructure.  Oops – kinda like Moe poking Larry in the eyes.

The train to nowhere is not California’s first multi-billion dollar mistake.  Pretty much the plot on any Stooges short.

Gavin Newsom – Curly with hair – nonsense sounds while running in circles laying on the floor.

But Let’s Close on Beauty

Tech improvements are great – but man-alive, these old cars are beautiful.  And you did not need a computer to wrench on them either – a set of sockets, a few screwdrivers and some feeler gauges and it was off to the races.  (Insert Tim Allen grunting here)
