OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep 24, 2025--
Xapify, a provider of digital competency management solutions, today announced a copyright and know-how agreement with Mayo Clinic to digitize and make available Mayo Clinic’s Tiered Skills Acquisition Model (TSAM®) orientation competency framework through the Xapify Competency Marketplace. This collaboration enables healthcare organizations to implement a tiered approach to nursing orientation in a fully digital format, potentially reducing administrative burden and supporting consistent, evidence-based competency management.
TSAM® is a structured, preceptor-led model for nursing orientation designed to guide skill development through clearly defined tiers. Published results have shown reductions in orientation time and improvements in nurse confidence and retention. By digitizing TSAM® within its competency management platform, Xapify aims to provide hospitals with ready-to-use orientation content, customizable checklists, automated sign-off processes, and real-time progress tracking — all supported by secure, audit-ready records.
“We are excited to collaborate with Mayo Clinic to make the TSAM® framework easily accessible through the Xapify Competency Marketplace,” said Nick Stephenson, CEO of Xapify. “This will allow healthcare organizations to deploy a standardized, data-driven approach to nursing orientation that can save time for educators and preceptors while ensuring competency verification is consistent and transparent.”
“We’re sharing our staff’s expertise and the tools we’ve developed with direct care nursing teams,” said Denise Rismeyer, DNP, MSN, RN, NPD-BC, Director of the Continuing Nursing Education Program, Mayo Clinic. “Our goal is for Mayo Clinic Nursing to spread knowledge worldwide, helping nurses grow professionally and enhancing patient care. This initiative is intended to foster professional development among nurses and, in turn, elevate patient care standards.”
The TSAM® framework will be available through the Xapify Competency Marketplace, part of Xapify’s competency management software, and can be licensed and configured to fit specific orientation programs.
Mayo Clinic has a financial interest in the technology referenced in this press release. Mayo Clinic will use any revenue it receives to support its not-for-profit mission in patient care, education, and research. |
