LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar 31, 2026--

Impulse Group, an affinity group of AHF, strongly condemns today’s Supreme Court decision, which removes critical protections for LGBTQ+ youth and opens the door for the return of harmful, discredited practices.

By overturning Colorado’s ban on conversion therapy, the Court has legitimized a practice rejected by every major medical authority. LGBTQ+ youth, especially young gay men, now face greater risk of psychological harm, stigma, and increased vulnerability to depression and suicide.

This is not about free speech. It’s a failure to protect young people from harm. The ruling prioritizes ideology over the well-being of LGBTQ+ youth, leaving them without needed protections.

As a gay men’s organization, Impulse Group understands the deep harm caused by attempts to erase identity. Many of us have lived through the consequences of these practices, and we will not accept their resurgence.

“This decision is a direct threat to LGBTQ+ youth,” said Jose Ramos, Founder of Impulse Group. “We know what’s at stake because we’ve lived it. Conversion therapy is not care. It’s harm, and it does not belong in any society that values dignity.”

Ramos added, “As a community of gay men, we have the responsibility to speak out. We won’t stay silent while the next generation is put at risk. Our youth deserve protection, affirmation, and support.”

Impulse Group calls on leaders everywhere to take action. In the absence of federal protections, local leadership must step up to defend evidence-based care and reject harmful policies.

Impulse Group remains committed to engaging, supporting, and connecting gay men globally, ensuring our communities are empowered and safe.
