Air Transport Services Group has appointed Greg Mays as President.

Mr. Mays is a seasoned aviation executive whose leadership has consistently delivered growth and operational excellence. As Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Sun Country Airlines, he guided the carrier through periods of rapid change and performance improvement. Earlier in his career, he played a key role at Alaska Airlines, helping to strengthen maintenance, engineering, and labor relations during a time of transformation. He also spent more than a decade at Delta Air Lines, where he oversaw complex global operations in maintenance, ground handling, and cargo. In addition, Mays gained strategic perspective at Boston Consulting Group, advising aviation and defense clients on high-stakes operational challenges.

“Greg is a strategic and people-focused leader who consistently elevates performance through collaboration, discipline, and vision and we are excited to have him on board,” said Mike Berger, Chief Executive Officer of ATSG. “His operational expertise along with his aviation acumen, position him perfectly to propel ATSG forward with a continued focus on safety, growth, operational excellence, and profitability.”

Under Greg Mays’ leadership, ATSG will continue to expand its global leasing platform with the A330 converted freighter and its EASA-approved A321. At the same time, Greg is committed to strengthening the company’s workforce through initiatives like AirborneTech, which provides employees with a pathway to earn their aviation maintenance technician license in as little as twelve months. By combining growth with innovative programs, ATSG will remain well positioned to be a global leader in aircraft leasing, flying, and support services.

Mr. Mays added, “ATSG has built a strong foundation in one of the most complex industries. My focus will be on strengthening that foundation by driving operational precision, empowering teams, and expanding capabilities.
