Some seasons feel invisible.
You pray.
You wait.
You hope.
But nothing seems to change.
No visible progress.
No clear answers.
No signs that things are moving forward.
And slowly, discouragement sets in.
You begin to wonder:
Is God really working?
In 2 Corinthians 5:7, we’re reminded of a foundational truth:
“For we live by faith, not by sight.”
That sounds simple—until you have to live it.
Because living by faith means trusting God when you can’t see what He’s doing.
It means believing in growth before it becomes visible.
The devotional paints a powerful picture through nature:
Before spring arrives, something important is happening underground.
Roots are stretching deeper.
Seeds are breaking open.
Life is forming—completely unseen.
And when the time is right, what was hidden begins to bloom.
The same is true in your life.
God often does His most important work in the unseen places.
In the quiet.
In the waiting.
In the moments where nothing looks different on the surface.
But beneath it all, something is changing.
Strength is forming.
Faith is deepening.
Trust is growing.
The problem is, we tend to measure progress by what we can see.
We look for visible results.
We want confirmation.
We want proof that our prayers are working.
But faith asks us to trust something deeper:
God’s character.
Because even when circumstances don’t change immediately, God is still faithful.
He is still present.
He is still working.
He is still moving.
And sometimes, the delay you feel is not absence—
It’s preparation.
Just like roots need time to grow strong before they can support visible growth, your faith is being developed in ways that will sustain what’s coming next.
So if you feel like nothing is happening, don’t lose heart.
What you can’t see doesn’t mean nothing is happening.
It means something deeper is taking place.
Something stronger.
Something lasting.
Something God is carefully building.
So tonight, choose faith.
Trust Him in the unseen.
Trust Him in the silence.
Trust Him in the waiting.
Because God is working—
even now.
And one day, you’ll see the fruit of everything He’s been doing beneath the surface.
